Frequently Asked Questions
What is the great difference between the calculation of business days and consecutive days?+
Deadlines in consecutive days count all the days of the calendar without any exception. On the contrary, business deadlines omit the days classified as non business by the applicable law, always excluding Sunday, usually legal holidays, and in certain civil courts Saturdays are also discounted.
Does the tool automatically discount the specific legal holidays of Chile?+
In its current version, the calculator discounts the general rule of weekends according to the selected option. However, to obtain the precise and absolute expiration, the professional must always corroborate the presence of legal holidays and local holidays within the calendar of the current year.
How are deadlines of months or years legally counted?+
According to the mandate of national civil legislation, all deadlines stipulated in full months or years are counted from date to date in continuous days, which means that they will irrevocably expire on the same day of the final month, regardless of the type of day it turns out to be.
